Mings Pleased With Recent Form

Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings has been pleased with the form he has shown during his loan spell with Aston Villa.

The former Ipswich star saw his game time at the Vitality Stadium restricted during the first half of the season and he, therefore, opted to join Villa on loan during last month’s transfer window.

Despite the fact Villa have failed to win any of the four games Mings has played, the 25-year-old has received rave reviews for his own individual performances and he even scored during the 3-3 draw with Sheffield United earlier this month.

Mings is certainly pleased with his current form, but he admits he is more concerned about Villa returning to winning ways than he is about his own displays.

He told the Villa website: “I’m pleased with them (his performances), but I’d have swapped four average performances for four wins.

“Every player has a responsibility to give their all. That’s all I’m doing. If everyone does their job then hopefully the team will benefit from that.”

Mings remains under contract with Bournemouth until the summer of 2022 and, given his current form, it is unlikely the Cherries will consider selling him during the summer.

The centre-back could still have a bright future at the Vitality Stadium, as injuries have been the main reason why he has struggled for game time since joining the club back in 2015.
