Martin Montoya claims his former team-mate Neymar would relish a return to Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain at some point. The 29-year-old Spanish defender, who is now with Premier League side Brighton, spent time playing alongside Neymar at Barca before leaving to join Valencia in summer 2016.
Neymar departed a year later when he made a world record £200million switch to PSG, where he is looking to help the big-spending French side defend their Ligue 1 title and push on for the Champions League this term.
However, there has been constant speculation linking Neymar with a move away from Paris since he moved as Real Madrid have been mentioned as a potential suitors to take him back to Spain’s La Liga.
But Montoya has suggested that the 26-year-old Brazilian superstar would prefer to go back to the Camp Nou if the chance arises.
He told Goal: “I don’t know, I think it is difficult to get done. “Paris is also a great team and I don’t think they will let him to leave easily. “Paris paid a big amount of money for him and I don’t think Barcelona would pay the same price for him [to come back].
“I think Neymar wants to go back because he was really comfortable and adapted the three years he was at the club. “He had a great connection with Luis Suarez and [Lionel] Messi, but I think it is very difficult for him to come back to Barca.”
