England will be without suspended skipper Eoin Morgan for the fourth ODI with Pakistan on Friday at Trent Bridge Morgan has fallen foul of the ICC for a slow over rate in Tuesday’s win over Pakistan in Bristol and has been banned for the next clash between the two sides at Trent Bridge, with vice-captain Jos Buttler expected to step in.

England lead Pakistan 2-0 in the five-match series with two games to play after their six-wicket win on Tuesday followed their 12-run win at Southampton, while the first match was a washout. Morgan was fined 40 per cent of his match fee and the rest of the players 20 per cent of theirs after the ICC ruled they were two overs short of where they should have been in the time allowed.

He was not alone in falling foul of the governing body as opener Jonny Bairstow was reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC code of conduct when he knocked over the stumps with his bat after being dismissed for 128.

An ICC statement read: “In accordance with Article 2.22.1 of the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.”
