Morris Considers Options For Sams Profile

Trainer Mouse Morris says Sams Profile is likely to stay hurdling this season rather than embark on a campaign as a chaser.

Morris says Sams Profile, who came in fifth in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year, is unlikely to return to action until the end of the year, and he is yet to make any concrete plans although he feels the five-year-old will benefit from another season over hurdles.

“I haven’t decided for definite, but it looks as though we’ll be staying over hurdles this season,” he told the Racing Post. “Especially considering all the novice chasers coming out this time around.”

He added: “We could go up in trip to try him as a staying hurdler. He’s a bit behind, but seems grand. He’s just so big that he’s slightly backward still, and it’ll be Christmas before he’s out.”
