Mourinho Dismiss Real Madrid Return

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has played down rumours that he is in line to take over at Real Madrid if Zinadine Zidane is axed. The French coach is under mounting pressure in the Spanish capital after a poor start to the season in La Liga, just two wins so far, was compounded by them being completely outplayed by Paris Saint-Germain in midweek in the Champions League.

With rumours growing of unrest in the camp, the list of those who could be approached to take over should the axe fall on Zidane has been growing and Mourinho’s name has been mentioned.

It is six years since the Portuguese was at the Bernabeu and many think he should return but he has played down the chances of that happening. “Talking about my name is what I don’t like,” Mourinho told Deportes Cuatro. “I would not like to train Real Madrid because they already have a coach and that’s it, you can’t train a team who already has a coach.

“I speak with respect for a coach who is there and is a huge individual in the history of Real Madrid.”
The pressure will increase even more on Zidane over the weekend if Los Blancos fail to get a result at Sevilla on Sunday night.
