Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has told the club he does not want to leave this summer, according to reports.
The German defender joined the Gunners for £35million from Valencia in the summer of 2016 but has struggled for form since making the move and came under criticism from fans last season.
Manager Unai Emery is reportedly considering selling Mustafi to raise some much-needed funds to strengthen the squad in other areas.
However, according to fresh reports, the 27-year-old Germany international, has told the club hierarchy he does not plan on leaving this summer and wants to fight for his place in the side.
He is under contract until 2021 so Arsenal may have to let him stay for another two years until that deal expires.

They may also be forced to keep him if Laurent Koscielny moves away from Arsenal this summer, as the Frenchman’s future looks to be in serious doubt after refusing to board a plane to America for a pre-season tour.
