Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has confirmed he is in talks with the club over a new contract. The 24-year-old has become a key figure in Napoli’s midfield since signing from Empoli in the summer of 2016, having made 104 appearances across all competitions.

However, reports suggested he could be on his way out of the club due to a standoff over wages and a potential release clause to be placed in any new deal.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Juventus are known to be admirers but it appears they are going to miss out on the Poland international.
Zielinski has confirmed talks are now moving in a more positive direction and he expects to put pen to paper sooner rather than later.
“I think we’ll reach a deal soon,” Zielinski said. “Negotiations are ongoing between my entourage and the club. Napoli are asking for a pretty high release clause and I think we’ll reach a deal soon.”
