No Real Madrid Problems For Hazard

Eden Hazard does not subscribe to the view that he has had a tough start to his Real Madrid career as he ignores all the negativity to just get on with his job. The 28-year-old made a big-money move to the Bernabeu in the summer after seven seasons with Chelsea during which he enhanced his reputation to become one of Europe’s best players.

However, with big things expected of him in La Liga, the Belgium international has yet to really get going, the legacy of an injury that prevented him from making his debut until a few weeks into the season.

The former Lille man has been criticised in the Spanish press for a few lacklustre displays, while the fans have also been expressing their displeasure and suggested he was not worth a fee that could eventually rise to 146m euros.

Talking to Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure, it was put to the skilful forward that he has struggled under the microscope in the Spanish capital but Hazard was having none of it and says he ignores any criticism.

“No, I have not had any tough weeks in Madrid,” he said. “I know that a lot of people talk about Real Madrid everywhere and that’s why I’m here, but I still don’t speak Spanish so I don’t pay attention to criticism.”

The man capped 104 times by Belgium did get off the mark when scoring against Granada in a 4-2 victory prior to the international break and will hope to hit the ground running when domestic matters resume on Saturday away at Mallorca.
