Norwich have moved into the transfer market to snap up Borussia Monchengladbach striker Josip Drmic on a three-year deal. The 26-year-old has spent the last four years with the Bundesliga club but will be out of contract on July 1 and is now ready for a fresh challenge with the Canaries.

The striker has been capped 32 times by Switzerland and boss Daniel Farke, who has targeted a new striker, is delighted to have got him on board. “We made it clear we wanted to sign a new striker and we have found a guy who has proved himself at the highest level,” the Canaries boss said.

“He has had a difficult couple of years with injuries, but we feel he is the full package. Two or three years ago, some of the biggest clubs in Europe were interested in him.” Drmic says the influence of Farke played a huge part in his decision to join Norwich, and is looking forward to getting started with his new club. “We had a long conversation as I had a lot of questions and he spoke very, very positively about the club,” he told the club’s website.
