New Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi insists he will do whatever it takes to succeed at the club this season following his move. The France international made the headlines earlier this week when he left Sevilla for a fee of £27million.
The former Stoke man had been linked with a move to the Premier League once again but has decided to join the Italian giants.
He can now look forward to his first spell in Italy and admits he will fight harder than ever to succeed.
Nzonzi told reporters on Thursday: “As a central midfielder, I think I have the ability to win and retain possession, helping the team to play forward into attack. Every player has their own abilities, my aim is to give my best for the club.
“I had three great years at Sevilla but I already felt like I needed a new challenge. Roma is a great club, one that will help me to improve both as a player and a person.
“I’m ready to do whatever the team needs. I played one season at Sevilla in front of the defence – a role I like – but I also played further forward for them. The main thing is the organisation between the players and the other centre midfielders.”
