Parcell Happy to get through Broncos battle

Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell says he was happy to come through the game with London Broncos unscathed but was disappointed with the loss. The Australian playmaker, who made the loan switch from Leeds Rhinos to the Robins midway through the Super League season, made a return on Friday after being out with a shoulder problem.

There were concerns Parcell could be out for the remainder of the season but the 26-year-old returned for the narrow defeat at the hands of the Broncos. The Robins must now go to Salford Red Devils in the final round as four teams remain as candidates for the drop.

Having overcome his injury woes, Parcell was happy to be back in action but the result was a hard one to take against London. He told Hull KR TV: “It (the shoulder) is pretty sore now but a couple of weeks ago I didn’t know if I’d be playing so it’s good to get through it. One more game to go now.

“The first half we played to their strengths and didn’t play the way we wanted to. We defended alright but there were a couple of lapses and they scored points which was quite disappointing. “The second half we came out a lot better and with about 20 minutes to go I thought we were going to go on with it but they’re a tough team and they band together. “It’s very disappointing to lose it with a couple of minutes to go.”
