Parish Reveals Zaha Stance

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has ruled out allowing Wilfried Zaha to leave the club during the January transfer window.

Ivory Coast international Zaha has consistently been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park over recent seasons, but he underlined his commitment to the club by signing a new five-year contract in August worth approximately £130,000-a-week.

However, that has not stopped the rumour mill going into overdrive, with the latest reports suggesting a big-money move to China could be on the cards for the 26-year-old.

Parish has categorically dismissed such talk, however, and he is convinced Zaha will still be a Palace player when the January transfer window closes, although he admits there could come a time when Zaha does move onto pastures new.

“We have got a long history with Wilf. He loves the club and we love him. But of course people want to do well in their career over time,” Parish was quoted as saying by Daily Mail. “We have to look at it. We have to look at the right circumstances for Wilf, the right circumstances for the club.

“Right now, I know he is 1,000% committed to Crystal Palace Football Club. He doesn’t think about anything else. He is not interested in going to China.” “He wants to help us get up the table. That is all he is focused on right now.”
