Pavard Accepts Responsibility For Stuttgart Struggles

Benjamin Pavard says he has to take some of the blame for Stuttgart’s struggles this season ahead of his move to Bayern Munich. Pavard agreed to join Bayern in the summer during the January transfer window but he may well arrive at the Allianz Arena with a relegation on his CV as his current club sit in the Bundesliga relegation play-off spot.

The France international admits he hasn’t been at his best, but the World Cup winner has no concerns over his quality and is confident he will be a success at Bayern. “I didn’t sign for Bayern just because of that one shot,” he told France’s Canal Football Club, referring to his famous goal for France against Argentina in the last 16 of the World Cup last year.

“It’s because I’m one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga. Defensively, I’m strong – and technically also.” “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy staying here – I had expected a tough season,” he added. “A lot of people have been criticising me, but very few of the actually watch my games. It’s true that I’ve made a few mistakes and I accept my share of the responsibility.”
