Joel Pereira is a loan target for Reading after being recalled from Vitoria Setubal and United may also see Timothy Fosu-Mensah return. Pereira has returned early from a season-long loan spell in his native Portugal and the 21-year-old is likely to head back out to another club before the end of the current transfer period.
Reading, who are now managed by ex-Rio Ave coach Jose Gomes, are understood to be the most likely destination for Pereira.

The Championship club were at Old Trafford last weekend for the FA Cup third-round tie and talks to send the Portugal Under-21 international to the Madejski Stadium appear to be well underway. Fosu-Mensah should also soon be free to return to Old Trafford from Fulham after being told he is not in manager Claudio Ranieri’s plans.
The 21-year old Joel Pereira , who was due to spend the full season at Craven Cottage, could now find a new club ahead of the second half of the campaign.
