Pereyra Linked With Watford Exit

The agent of Watford star Roberto Pereyra has cast doubt over his long-term future at the club by admitting Chelsea have shown an interest. Argentina international Pereyra has played a major role for the Hornets this season, scoring six goals in 21 appearances to help Javi Gracia’s side sit comfortably in the top half of the Premier League standings.
However, it appears the 28-year-old’s form has not gone unnoticed and he was recently linked with a move to Italian outfit Torino, who are managed by former Watford boss Walter Mazzarri.
Pereyra’s agent, Sergio Furlan, has also revealed Chelsea have shown an interest in his client and, although he has all but ruled out a move during the January transfer window, he has refused to close the door on a potential switch to Stamford Bridge in the future. “A transfer in January? In the market you can never say never, but I tend to exclude it almost always,” Furlan told Tuttosport. “Maxi does not want to leave his team in such a delicate moment, he is focused on Watford, and the club does not want to sell it in the middle of the championship. “In these weeks Chelsea have tried for him, it is true, but also without finding a breach, Maxi is a pure ball of (Chelsea boss Maurizio) Sarri, even if he has never coached him.”
