Genoa’s sporting director Giorgio Perinetti has confirmed they have already rejected an offer from Napoli for Krzysztof Piatek. The 23-year-old Poland international striker is already attracting the attention of several top European clubs after a blistering start to the season, in which he has scored 13 goals in his opening 12 appearances for the Italian Serie A outfit.
Genoa’s president Enrico Preziosi has always maintained there is the possibility of Piatek being sold at some stage in the future, but he will be looking for big money for the player.
And Perinetti has now revealed that Serie A rivals Napoli have already tested the water with an offer ahead of the January transfer window. “We’ve sent all offers for Piatek back to sender,” he told Radio Crc. “Did one come from Napoli? Yes, but it wasn’t the right time. Will talks resume in June? We’ll think about it later.”
