Coach Stefano Pioli insists Fiorentina will need to be at their best for the entire game if they are to beat Inter on Tuesday evening. The sides will clash at the San Siro having enjoyed differing fortunes in the early part of the season.
La Viola sit in third place in the Serie A standings, with 10 points from five games played while the Nerazzurri are six places and three points behind after losing two of the first four games.
However, the Milan giants have improved of late, with a 1-0 victory at Sampdoria following a 2-1 home success against Tottenham in the Champions League.
Pioli knows that Luciano Spalletti’s charges will be dangerous throughout and has urged his men to dig deep to ensure they get the right result.
“Every game is a test and you have to be prepared for them,” he told reporters. “We must show our identity on the field, regardless of how strong our opponents are.
“We have to learn from the match against Napoli, where we played poorly in the second half, if we’re to do well against Inter. We need to play well for 95 minutes.
“The fact they’ve been winning games at the death poses extra danger to us as it highlights their ability to stay in the game.”
