Defender Gerard Pique admits that the addition of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba to the Barcelona ranks would make the players “happy”. Pogba’s future at Old Trafford has come under scrutiny this season after an alleged fall-out with manager Jose Mourinho.
That has led to speculation that the World Cup-winning France international might leave the Red Devils next summer.
Much depends on what happens with the Portuguese tactician this season as many pundits feel he will not last the entire campaign in the United dug-out.
Pique admits he is in the dark over Pogba’s situation but would welcome the midfielder with open arms at the Nou Camp.
“I’m not too well-informed on what’s going on,” he said. “He is a great player, that’s clear, and we will see in the future if he changes clubs.
“It would be good if he came and it would make us happy in the future, but we have to respect the fact he is a Manchester United player.”
