Pirates Targeting Hornets Jakubiak Raid

Bristol Rovers boss Graham Coughlan has confirmed he would like to re-sign Watford starlet Alex Jakubiak on a second loan deal. The 22-year-old forward signed his first professional deal at Vicarage Road in 2014 but has only made one appearance for the club since.

The Hornets have consistently loaned Jakubiak out to Braintree, Oxford, Dagenham and Redbridge, Fleetwood Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Falkirk in the past five years. He spent last term on loan at the Memorial Stadium with Rovers and scored five goals in 44 appearances.

And, with Jakubiak unlikely to be in the plans of Watford boss Javi Gracia this coming campaign, Coughlan has revealed he would like to take the youngster back on loan with a view to signing him permanently. He told the Observer: “I will still pursue Alex. “Alex was a quality player for us, Alex is a young player.

“I would love to get these players permanently, I would love them to be our players. “I am not a lover of coaching and developing other team’s players but it is a necessity sometimes. “The pursuit of other players, including Alex Jakubiak will continue. If we are successful then great, if we don’t then we have got enough players to work with.”
