Mauricio Pochettino has reaffirmed his commitment to Tottenham after fresh speculation linking him with the Real Madrid job. The reigning European champions are understood to be giving serious consideration to sacking current head coach Julen Lopetegui after their worst start to a La Liga season since the 2001-02 campaign.
The Argentine was linked with a switch to the Bernabeu during the summer before the appointment of Lopetegui, only for Spurs to react by securing the 46-year-old to a new long-term contract.
The ex-Southampton boss has now played down talk of a switch to Madrid, insisting he has heard nothing from Real and claiming he will be at Tottenham when they finally move into their new stadium in 2019.
“Will I be moving in too? Yes,” he confirmed. “When we move, I expect to move there. Only Daniel [Levy] can say ‘the club is going to move, but you gaffer no.’
“Because I’m in a different country my English is not so good and I don’t follow too much the media.
“I sometimes have a surprised face because I am not too much involved in social media because I don’t have Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, nothing, I don’t receive information.
“That’s why my head, my face, I look younger than I really am. Stuff like that happens in football. You can not change anything. It’s normal in this business.” Pochettino said.
