Paris Saint-Germain are keen to keep hold of Manchester City target Adrien Rabiot, while Chelsea have also entered the race. Rabiot, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes, is known to be on Pep Guardiola’s wanted list as he looks to sign a new midfielder in the January window.
The controversial midfielder, who withdrew his availability for France’s World Cup squad after being named on the standby list, has started all four of PSG’s Ligue 1 outings in 2018-19.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel now says he is determined to keep hold claiming Rabiot’s versatility makes him a key part of the set-up in the French capital and has praised his professional attitude.
“I love working with Rabiot,” Tuchel told RMC. “I really like Adrien, he had a difficult situation when he voluntarily missed the World Cup, but his effort with the team has been maximum, he has not missed any training.
“He can be adapted to any system and if he is physically well he is essential for our approach. He has great potential and is a player trained in the club. It is very important to have footballers of this nature.”
Whether City an lure him away remains to be seen, while reports also claim that Chelsea, who pipped them to the signing of Jorginho are also interested.
