Pulis Lurking As Tan’s Go-To Man

Tony Pulis is reportedly be the man Vincent Tan will turn to if current Cardiff boss Neil Warnock decides to retire this summer.

The Bluebirds owner confirmed earlier in the week that he would be happy if Warnock wanted to stay put to try and secure an immediate return to the Premier League after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed last week.

Warnock knows what it takes to secure promotion with his success at Cardiff 12 months ago being the eighth of his managerial career.

As it stands, it seems the 70-year-old will stay on board after planned talks with Tan this week but reports claim the club are making contingency plans in the event that he opts to call it a day.

That could pave the way for Pulis to come to the Cardiff City Stadium as the South Wales native is approaching the end of his contract with Middlesbrough and is yet to pen an extension.

The 61-year-old has been in charge at the Riverside Stadium for 18 months and, after failing to secure promotion via the Championship play-offs last season, he could only manage a seventh-placed finish this term.

Pulis has confirmed that he will hold talks with Boro chairman Steve Gibson this week before disclosing his future plans, but it seems he could walk into another job should his time on Teesside be coming to a close.
