Real Madrid are set to react to Eden Hazard’s recent comments by offering Chelsea £100million for the player, reports have claimed. Real have long been linked with a move for the Belgium playmaker and have been encouraged by his recent comments regards a potential switch to the Bernabeu at some point in the future.
Hazard is still under contract but has yet to pen a new one and after admitting he still dreams of one day playing for Real, there is a huge question mark over whether he will commit or ask to move on.
It has now been suggested that Real will make a move in January in the hope Hazard will ask to leave forcing Chelsea to back down and cash in.
That looks unlikely midway through the season, while much will also depend on the managerial situation at Real, where coach Julen Lopetegui is already under pressure following a disappointing start to the season.
It has been suggested that former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be drafted in as his replacement and if that is the case then Hazard will no doubt have second thoughts following their well-documented fallout at Stamford Bridge.
