Tottenham missed out on Manchester United star Anthony Martial in the summer after Reds CEO Ed Woodward blocked the deal.
The Frenchman showed his class at the weekend with two clinical strikes as United drew 2-2 with Chelsea, but had things been different he could have been in a Spurs shirt.
Mauricio Pochettino was heavily linked with a swoop for the striker in the summer and it would appear that Jose Mourinho was happy to let him go to fund his own transfers.
Mourinho would have used the money to help fund a deal for Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan, but Woodward had other ideas and was unwilling to let Martial move on.

There are fresh reports doing the rounds that Spurs could make another attempt after Pochettino spoke of his desire to sign new players in January.
However any new offers are also sure to be knocked back as Woodward’s stance will not have change regards the former Monaco ace, who showed at the weekend it would have been a mistake to let him go.
