Rice Urges Hammers To Push On

West Ham must not sit back and think they have achieved anything just because they got a good win over Manchester United according to Declan Rice.

The Hammers have been praised from pillar to post for the way the took apart a poor Manchester United side on Sunday thanks to goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell, but Rice is keen they do not sit on that result and think the job is done.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are now being considered as one of the main sides chasing a top six spot as the win on Sunday sent them up to fifth in the fledgling Premier League table on 11 points same as Arsenal and Leicester above them.

Whilst there is still a long way to go in the season, it is a good start and Rice is keen for them to make the most of it and push on.

He told the club’s website: “Drive on and keeping winning games, that’s our third Premier League clean sheet in a row and we’re into the top places so it’s all looking positive at the moment. “West Ham fans can go home with smiles on their faces and looking forward to us playing every week as us, as players, are looking forward to playing every week and at the moment we feel we are unbeatable. We need to keep it up.”

Rice maintains the Hammers are a different beast to what they have been in the past and that any side , including all the so called bigger clubs, will find the London Stadium a difficult place to come to.

He said: “We’re such a good team, defending and going forward, collectively we’re so, so good, and every big team that comes here knows they’re in for a game and we showed that again and got the three points that was needed.”
The next time a top six side visit the London Stadium is Tottenham’s visit at the end of November.
