Brandon Rios has told promoter Eddie Hearn that he is ready for another title fight after he stopped Ramon Alvarez on Saturday. The 32-year-old former WBA lightweight world champion was making his first appearance since February’s ninth-round stoppage defeat at the hands of welterweight Danny Garcia in Las Vegas.

Rios had reunited with former trainer Robert Garcia following that defeat and has a multi-fight deal with promoter Hearn’s Matchroom USA.
Despite Brandon struggling in the early stages of the fight in Kansas as he continues to get accustomed to fighting at the higher weight, he stormed back and ended the contest with Alvarez courtesy of a ninth-round KO.
Hearn has suggested a bout with British welterweight prospect Josh Kelly is the ideal next step on the path to a title fight, while Rios claims he is open to anything. “I’m signed to Eddie Hearn and DAZN. I got my next fight with Eddie, and excited for it. If you want to put me in the next title shot, I’m there,” Rios said.
