Four-time Super League winner Brett Delaney has opted to join championship side Featherstone Rovers despite a number of options.
There was a host of clubs after the forward’s signature after he decided to call it a day at Leeds following an injury-hit season last time out, but it is a major coup for Rovers to have landed him.
The former Parramatta Eels star won two Challenge Cups and a World Club Challenge, along with four Super League titles, during his nine-year stay with the Rhinos.
“I’m very excited to start a new chapter with Featherstone, for the next two years,” Delaney told the Yorkshire Post. “I know I still have a lot to give, both on an off the pitch as a player.
“Right now, I just can’t wait to meet everyone at the club and start to knuckle down with preseason training. I’m really looking forward to being with the boys and the coaching staff.”
