Scotland’s Finn Russell says he is happy to help fellow fly-half Adam Hastings in the national set-up this autumn. The duo are competing for the No.10 jersey, with Hastings currently the understudy to the more experienced Racing 92 stand-off Russell.
Both players were on the field for the last 10 minutes on Saturday as Russell played at inside-centre to help set up Hastings for the last try in a comprehensive win over Fiji.

Rather than feeling threatened by the Glasgow Warriors starlet, Russell feels he now has the experience to help guide Hastings on the international stage as the pair prepare for Saturday’s clash with South Africa at Murrayfield. “I don’t feel like I’ve got to shut him out from everything that I know,” said Russell.
“Adam is 22 so he’s four years younger than me. I’m trying to help him out as much as possible.”
