Schurrle Won’t Play Championship Football

Andre Schurrle has revealed he will return to Borussia Dortmund early if Fulham are relegated from the Premier League this season.

Germany international Schurrle arrived at Craven Cottage in the summer on a two-year loan from Bundesliga leaders Dortmund and he has quickly become a first-team regular, scoring six goals from 21 league appearances.

Claudio Ranieri’s Fulham are currently 19th in the table – seven points from safety with 13 games remaining – and face a massive challenge to avoid dropping straight back down to the Championship.

If the West London outfit end up getting relegated, 28-year-old Schurrle has confirmed he will not be staying at the club and will return to BVB a year early from his loan.

He told Kicker: “No (I won’t stay if Fulham go down). My loan (agreement) would end with relegation and my contract with Dortmund would be active again.”
