Fulham have beaten Indian Super League side ATK 1-0 in a friendly as Andre Schurrle scored the Whites’ winner. The German World Cup winner sent an unstoppable shot into the top right-hand corner after receiving the ball just outside the box in the 72nd minute and it proved to be the only goal of the game at the Pinatar Arena.
Slavisa Jokanovic named new signings Luciano Vietto, Calum Chambers, Maxime Le Marchand and Alfie Mawson in his starting line-up, with fellow new recruit Fabri selected in goal.
Vietto was a threat in the early running before Le Marchard fizzed a shot just wide of the post – but the best chance of the first half fell to Aboubakar Kamara just prior to the interval.
But he was denied by a fine save by the ATK keeper after powering through the defence on his own to go one-on-one with the custodian.
Sergio Rico replaced Fabri at half-time, while schoolboy star Harvey Elliott, linked with some major clubs in the last few days, came on for Vietto.
Schurrle, who replaced Floyd Ayite midway through the second period, didn’t take long to make his mark as he found the net 10 minutes after his introduction.
