Scotland Sweating Over Russell Knock

Scotland are sweating over the fitness of star fly-half Finn Russell after he picked up a head knock playing for Racing 92 on Sunday.

Scotland are preparing to face France in Paris on Saturday and could now be without another key figure, with Russell being forced off during Racing’s 29-34 defeat to Toulouse.

Russell now faces a race against time as, if he did suffer a concussion, under the current World Rugby protocols the quickest he could return to action is six days.

Scotland already have a host of players out injured ahead of their trip to Paris, with the likes of Stuart Hogg and Huw Jones recently added to the injury list and ruled out of the encounter at the Stade de France.

Head coach Gregor Townsend will be hoping for positive news regarding Russell or he will have to look to the likes of Peter Horne and Adam Hastings to fill the void at fly-half.
