Tommy Fleetwood says his thirst for silverware has not been quelled by his heroics at the Ryder Cup.
The Englishman relished his first taste of the biennial event, teaming up with Francesco Molinari to score a perfect four points from as many outings as a pair.
Although he lost his singles match against Tony Finau, Fleetwood’s confidence will hardly have been tempered and he is back in action this week at the Dunhill Links Championship.
The 27-year-old shot a course record 63 at Carnoustie 12 months ago and tees his campaign off at Kingsbarns alongside Branden Grace on Thursday.
This week in Scotland begins the countdown in the race to Dubai, with six events to go until the DP World Tour Championship and the Southport-born star says he still has plenty of golf in him in 2018.
“There’s still plenty of golf to be played,” he said. “There’s still six or seven tournaments left on my schedule. There’s still certain goals that I have.
“I’d love to win again by the end of the year in December. That will be our time off and we’ll go away for Christmas and new year and really switch off for a while. For now, I’ll have to keep working.
“I think it’s the perfect kind of week to follow. St Andrews is my favourite course.”
