Siddle Set For Shock ODI Recall

Peter Siddle is in line to play his first ODI in more than eight years as Australia plan to rest their top bowlers against India.

The Victorian seamer, 34, is tipped to be a shock inclusion in the Australian squad for the upcoming three-match series against India.

Fox Cricket understands that the packed summer schedule for the Baggy Green, which includes two more Tests against Sri Lanka in late January and early February, has led to the decision.

Pace trio Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitch Starc are set to be rested for the 50-over matches against India with Siddle, who last played a ODI in November 2010, a beneficiary.

Siddle has been exclusively seen as a Test bowler by the Aussie selectors but has performed consistently for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League in the past two seasons.
