Siewert Won’t Change His Philosophy

Jan Siewert is adamant that Huddersfield will “continue what we are doing” as he believes the results will turn in their favour.

The Terriers slipped to their 12th defeat in 13 league matches and remain 13 points adrift of safety in the Premier League table after going down 2-1 against Arsenal at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette put the Gunners two-up at the interval, before Town battled back in the second half and secured a consolation goal – their first in six games – when Sead Kolasinac put through his own goal in stoppage time.

Siewert was proud of the way his team “gave everything” and he firmly believes that they will start picking up some points if they continue in the same manner.

He said: “Each player in the squad showed everyone that we wanted this win. At half-time we were 2-0 down and said we wanted to win the second half for the people who came here.

“To be honest I will fight until the end with my lads to stay in the Premier League and this makes me proud of the supporters.”

Siewert added: “The most important thing for me is to continue what we are doing. We played against a very good team today and created so many chances.

“For me as a manager, the fight comes first and then the luck comes back. We are improving in our work and we will get our results.”
