Everton boss Marco Silva has assured James McCarthy he will figure in his plans once he returns to full fitness.
The former Wigan Athletic star has always been an instrumental figure in the Everton engine room when fit, and Silva is well aware of the quality he possesses.

McCarthy has been out for almost 12 months after suffering an horrific leg break against West Brom and Silva is looking forward to having him available again.
The Toffees boss says his side sometimes miss a strong challenge in midfield, and has told McCarthy he will be in his thoughts when available.
“I know his quality,” Silva said. “Last season was difficult for him because when he started to play and get to a good moment, he had a bad injury again.
“He’s working hard to achieve a good physical condition. He’s a quality player. He’s powerful, strong in the challenge and that’s something we need in some moments.”
Everton will make sure they do not rush him back too early, but a fit again McCarthy will be like a new signing for the Portuguese.
