Leeds director of rugby Kevin Sinfield has warned his players if they don’t improve their defence then changes will have to be made.
The Rhinos are still reeling after their surprising home defeat at the hands of Hull KR last time out, which has put their chances of finishing top in the Qualifiers table in serious doubt.
Leeds developed good leads twice in the encounter against the Robins but were still on the wrong end of a 38-36 scoreline at Headingley.
With a trip to come on Sunday to Widnes, Sinfield has warned his side that their defence must improve otherwise he will look at alternatives in playing personnel.
He told reporters: “Whenever I think back to it there is still some disappointment there. Some missed opportunities for us and it certainly hurt that one.
“Some frustration there as well, some anger after the game. To let two decent leads slip at home in such a big game is tough to swallow.
“We just need to be better. We have had a real focus on it (defence) this week and to get in this team you’ve got to be able to defend and if you can’t then we’ll have to make some changes.”
