Spurs Handed Eriksen Boost As Real Cool Interest

Spurs Handed Eriksen Boost As Real Cool Interest

Spanish reports now claim Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen is no longer a summer target for Real Madrid. Eriksen had been considered as one of the Spanish giants’ top targets ahead of the summer window.

The Denmark international is due to enter the final year of his deal at the end of the season and so far Spurs have been unable to convince Eriksen to extend his contract.

However, Tottenham are unwilling to budge on their asking price – reported to be in excess of £200million – and Real are not prepared to pay over the odds for a player who will be out of contract in 2020.

Spain’s Diario AS have now claimed Real will not move for Eriksen in the summer unless Spurs lower their valuation, but they are expected to maintain their interest and could move make their move next January, either to land the 26-year-old for a lesser fee or to reach a pre-contract agreement.

Tottenham could face a fight to keep hold of Eriksen regardless of whether or not Real make a move this summer, with Barcelona also believed to be keen.
