Young forward Isaac Success is determined to keep his head down and continue to press for a place in the Watford first team. The 22-year-old has made an appearance in all 10 of the Hornets’ Premier League fixtures this term but had not started a match until getting the nod against Wolves on October 20.
The Nigeria international was also given an opportunity from the start against Huddersfield last time out and scored his first goal of the season as Javi Gracia’s men claimed a 3-0 victory to sit seventh in the top-flight standings.
Having failed to make an appearance last term before being shipped out on loan to La Liga side Malaga, Success’s future at the club seemed up in the air and so he is delighted to be playing his part in a resurgent Watford side.
“I am so happy because I struggled last season and I have come back to the team and been given a few opportunities by the coach,” he told the club website.
“I am trying to get in the team, give my best and make sure the team gets positive results when I am on the pitch. I will just keep working hard and concentrating on the next game.”
The Hertfordshire outfit have won their past two games and Success feels that the coach’s methods are now getting through to the squad.
“I think the players are focused to remember tactics from the training ground and apply them in the game,” he added. “We will just keep working and hopefully we can get more wins in the season.”
