Helsingborgs defender Andreas Granqvist is open to joining Manchester United after being linked to a shock move in the January window.
The 33 year-old, who impressed alongside United’s Victor Lindelof during Sweden’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals, has been linked with a short-term switch to Old Trafford.
“There’s usually nothing in it when it’s in the press,” said Granqvist, who smiled if United boss Jose Mourinho had been in touch.
“Not yet, personally anyway.
“There is probably a little that suits all.
“I do not close any doors to anything. But it’s so far away and as long as nothing is concrete it’s mostly speculation.
“We simply see what’s happening. I have full focus on Helsingborgs and it is not relevant now, however, because the window is closed.
“As I said at the beginning, I’m flattered to even be mentioned with such a big team as Manchester United.”
