Burnley left-back Charlie Taylor says the focus for the squad is to rest up and be ready for a tough test against Newcastle United. Following a hard-fought goalless draw in their last outing against Leicester City at an emotional King Power Stadium, Burnley have a long wait before their next taste of Premier League action.
The Clarets will welcome Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle to Turf Moor on November 26 for the Monday night game following the current international break.
Taylor has admitted it feels a long time to wait but he insists the players will be rested and raring to go for an important game against a Newcastle side who are on the up after a tough start to the season. “We’ll rest up and come back fully fit for Newcastle,” he told the Burnley Express.
“We’ll have a few tough days training in between, because obviously it’s a long break until the next game, but obviously the days off are important as well, because it’s a long tough season in the Premier League and we need a break to be fully at it. “We just need to be ready for Newcastle and take the confidence from Leicester into that.”
