Wigan coach Shaun Wane has admitted shedding a few tears after his side beat Castleford last Friday in his final bow at the DW Stadium. After 30 year association with the club as a player and head coach Wane will be walking away from the Warriors on Saturday night after the Grand Final against Warrington Wolves to take up a position with the Scottish Rugby Union.
Wane has admitted he wonders if he has made the right call and to having doubts over the move and he has now revealed he was in tears as he said goodbye to the DW Stadium last weekend.
“Hopefully I’ll be a lot more controlled [on Saturday],” he said.
“If and when we win, then I’m not bothered what happens.
“But before the game it’s all about game plan, focus, work and making sure we deliver what we promised.”
