Tebas Doesn’t Want Neymar In La Liga

La Liga president Javier Tebas does not want Neymar to return to Barcelona and tarnish the image of the league. Reports have been doing the rounds for the past couple of months that Brazil international Neymar wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to his former stomping ground.

The 27-year-old left the Nou Camp for the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2017 but, despite scoring 51 goals from 58 appearances in all competitions, it has been reported that he is unhappy in the French capital. It remains to be seen whether Barca would be willing to fork out the sums required to buy back their former superstar but Tebas, for one, does not wish to see the South American in Spanish football again.

“I prefer that Neymar does not return to Barca,” he told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. “In the case of Neymar that behaviour is not good for the competition, because in the end the news is if the player has done this or that. “We have worked a lot in La Liga to maintain the values and we don’t want to change the image. “If outside the field the example is not correct, I prefer that he doesn’t return to La Liga because he is not a good example.”
