Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso has admitted he needs more time to reach peak fitness after returning to training. The 24-year-old won the World Cup this summer with France and was given more time off as a result.
Bayern returned to Munich on Thursday after their 4-1 friendly win over Hamburg, a game Tolisso was absent for.
The former Lyon man has now rejoined his team-mates and he admits he needs a little more time to get ready ahead of the Bundesliga season getting underway on August 24.
He told the club’s official website: “The coach knew that I worked a lot on holiday, wasn’t lazy, could get right back into it. I knew I couldn’t come back out of shape, because
I’m at Bayern, and at Bayern they do things in a professional manner.
“They told me it’s about getting down to business, that training is very intense. But it has to be. I need a little more time, but I’ll be back to 100 per cent as soon as possible.”
