Sam Tomkins looks set to play for England for the first time in four years after being named in Wayne Bennett’s squad to face New Zealand.
The fullback, who will play for Catalans Dragons next season after joining the French club from Grand Final winners Wigan Warriors, has been included in the England squad for the first time since playing against the Kiwis in 2014.

The 29-year-old will now be hoping to add to his 23 caps during the first clash of a three-match series between the two nations at the KCOM Stadium in Hull on Saturday.
Tomkins’ return is bad news for Warrington Wolves’ Stefan Ratchford, who has failed to make the 19-man squad.
Bennett has selected 11 of the 17 players that featured the last time England faced New Zealand in Denver in June, but the likes of Tom Johnstone, Treece Lyne, Adam Milner and Joe Greenwood have missed out.
Wigan centre Oliver Gildart has been included and he could be in line to make his debut on Saturday as he was unavailable to face France earlier this month due to his involvement in the Super League Grand Final.
