Transfer Window Disadvantage For Premier League

Transfer Window Disadvantage For Premier League

Why should managers in England be left restricted by the transfer window closing earlier than the rest of Europe and should they get special dispensation.
The Premier League transfer window closed last week but that leaves managers in England at a distinct disadvantage.

Even managers in Scotland get until September to strengthen their squads, although they are unlikely to wrestle away any players from the top Premier League sides.
Whilst Scotland does not offer too much of a worry for the top sides in England the same can not be said about clubs on the continent.

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and all the other top sides in Europe can still take part in the horse-trading that goes on between clubs right up until September 2 and that is an unfair advantage they have over their English counterparts.

Not only do they have the ability to be able to buy and sell for longer, they have a massive advantage if they target English-based players.
Manchester United ace Paul Pogba has been linked with a move abroad and, whilst it does not look like it is going to happen, it would be impossible for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to replace his midfied dynamo until January or, in reality, next summer, if he were to move to Real Madrid or somewhere else.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is in a similar position regarding Christan Eriksen with the Great Dame wanted by a host of clubs across Europe and there is a realistic chance he could be on his way before the deadline next month.

That move would leave Spurs at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to putting out a squad in the Champions League and their quest for the Premier League title.
If Spurs were to lose the midfielder before September that would dramatically weaken their hopes of challenging for honours and they are the one side that many expect to push Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and champions Manchester City for the top prize this season.

Whilst English clubs may have been a touch arrogant expecting Europe to fall into line and move their transfer windows to early August as well, surely they should be allowed special dispensation, if they were to lose any star men, to try and replace them.
It is plain to see that the transfer windows across Europe need to all close at the same time if it is to be a level playing field for all the clubs involved in UEFA competitions.
