Trippier Unhappy With His Form

Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier concedes his form has not been good enough this season and blames himself for several goals. The Bury-born right-back has been a key figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, making 25 appearances in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign.

Trippier has also helped Spurs into the quarter-finals of the Champions League but the England international claims he has failed to follow up his form from the World Cup in Russia. The former Burnley man helped England reach the final four and the 28-year-old admits he has to do better if he wants to reach the same level.

“I could have done a lot better than what I have done, I am the first to admit that,” he told Sky Sports. “I look at all the games I play in and review them. I have had chats with the manager and other players too, but it’s all about learning and trying to do as best as I can in every game. I always do my best.

“I could have done a lot better since the World Cup. I was trying things that I shouldn’t do, taking risks, I have been at fault for a few goals this season and made a few errors. “It’s all about learning and the past few games I have picked up my form a bit and hopefully I can carry on now until the end of the season.”
