Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has hinted Eden Hazard may miss out on a starting role in Sunday’s clash with Crystal Palace. The Belgium winger has been troubled by a back injury in recent weeks, missing his side’s last three games, and the coach says he is unsure whether or not the maestro is ready to make it through 90 minutes.
Instead, Sarri may choose to employ him from the bench against the Eagles, while Alvaro Morata looks set to start in attack.
The Spaniard completed 90 minutes in midweek against Derby and amid doubts over Olivier Giroud, he looks primed to get the nod as the lone striker.
Ross Barkley was rested in midweek but looks set to return ahead of Mateo Kovacic, while Cesc Fabregas is another who will have to settle for a place amongst the replacements.
Chelsea head into the game unbeaten in competitive fixtures this season and will be looking for a repeat of last term’s 2-1 win over the Eagles.
