United Target ‘Ready’ For Premier League Challenge

Bruno Fernandes has said he is ready to play in the Premier League, and is attracted to playing for either Manchester United or City. The 24-year-old has been linked with both clubs after a stunning 2018/19 season, which saw him rack up 32 goals and 18 assists for Sporting Lisbon.

Fernandes has claimed he is happy to join either team in Manchester, despite City showing no interest in signing him. However, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side are in the hunt to find a replacement for Ander Herrera, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Fernandes told RTE: “I feel it’s the moment. Last year I was able to go to England, I had three clubs interested, but I didn’t feel prepared. “In England, there are many teams that are a big challenge. Obviously, there are two teams that have been talked about a lot, United and City.

“Each in its own way has its own importance and strengths. Obviously, they are two clubs that I would like to represent.” However, the Portuguese star has hinted that Pep Guardiola’s side would be his preferred destination so that he can link up with his international team-mate, Bernardo Silva.

“Playing next to Bernardo would be very good. City would be a great opportunity,” he said. “Being able to play alongside a player like him would make things simpler. “I’ve always seen England as my dream, regardless of the names of the clubs. In England, there are many that I would like to represent.”
