Valencia Will Embrace Europa League – Parejo

Dani Parejo is refusing to be downbeat about Valencia’s Champions League exit and insists they will now target Europa League glory.

Los Che have been eliminated from Europe’s elite club competition after Tuesday’s 1-0 loss at Juventus saw them slip five points behind second-placed Manchester United with just one group match to play.

Young Boys’ defeat to the Red Devils means the Swiss outfit have a solitary point and will finish bottom, with Valencia guaranteed a place in the Europa League when the knockout stage commences in 2019.

Many clubs that drop down to the second-tier event tend to use it as a way to blood young talent and are not too bothered about progression, but skipper Parejo has made it clear that will not be the case with his team.

“The Europa League is a competition which has brought a lot of joy in the past to Valencia,” he told reporters. “It is a competition which excites us and we will enter it with the focus of competing and trying to win it.”
