Veteran Stopper Returns To Homeland

Goalkeeper Eduardo has finalised a move back to Braga after an unsuccessful spell in England with Chelsea. Chelsea signed Eduardo from Dinamo Zagreb on a one-year deal in the summer of 2016 to provide cover for Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic.

However, the 36-year-old failed to make a single appearance for the Blues and spent 2018-19 on loan with Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem. With his chances of first team football at Stamford Bridge looking bleak ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, Eduardo has opted to leave permanently. He returns to Braga where he started his career and has penned a contract which ties him to the Portuguese club until 2021.
